I recommend a having a variety of translations of the Bible. I use the New King James Translation; a study edition which gives alternate renderings of passages that contain significant differences between now extant major Greek Texts. I also recommend www.e-sword.net .
As with any and all links or quotations, this is not an unqualified endorsement or promotion of their beliefs. Some folks seem quite brilliant in one article, and then, falter in another. I've never met most of these folks.
